Meet Your Hosts

Maddine & Joe

For painters Maddine Insalaco and Joe Vinson art and food have always been intimately connected. They founded Etruscan Places in 1995 to offer landscape painting workshops first in Tuscany and later in Civita Castellana. The success of their plein air lunches coupled with their residence in one of Italy’s most important gastronomic areas led them to create Tuscan Epicure and launch the first White Truffle and Brunello Tour in 2005.

Since then their food activities have expanded into international social dining as New York hosts of Eat With where they offer various ARTIST PALATE menus in their home based on a fusion of Italian regional (Lombardy, Tuscany & Sicily) and American cuisines.

Our Sicily program is the realization of Maddine’s long term desire to make a contribution to the land of her grandparents by bringing knowledge of the rich cultural, natural and gastronomic history of Sicily to a wider audience.

The couple divides their lives between homes in Tuscany and New York City.
